Hi everyone! This is our son, Sean, and our daughter, Shaye. They have a Rare Genetics Disease called Hurler's that tragically, is terminal with an average life expectancy of six to ten years of age. Hurler's syndrome is a result from a deficiency of a protein critical to the normal function of several vital organs in the body, including the heart, the brain, the liver, the spleen and the blood vessels. Several recent advances in medical research improve the quality of life and life span of children with Hurler's syndrome. Sean has gone through a Bone Marrow transplant at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Shaye has also gone through a BMT at Texas Childrens Hospital. Sean's Donor Tony was proud to step up again to save our daughter For more information on Hurler's and other mps diseases please click on the links button to the MPS SOCIETY web page
We would like to thank Tony. Who donated the bone marrow for Sean and Shaye. It is truly a gift of life. Congratulations Sean on 6 years post BMT. Congratulations Shaye on 2 years post BMT Click below for News Story about Tony once there click on video link above the story
